Yes, there are discussions that briefly mention certain events from Leviathan Wakes in this story between a handful of major and minor characters, but the authors have avoided doing one of my least favorite things when it comes to book series, and that's summarizing or using weak dialogue early in a follow-up book to tell what should most obviously be told in the earlier books.
